CHILDREN : 4, 5, 6, & 7 YEARS  White , Red stripe and Yellow 1 only

BASICS:        Nomination by referee of the following: (stepping forward                                 /backwards x3 repetitions)

                     Oi-Zuki, Age-uke, Ude-uke, Gedan-barai & Mygeri

UNISON KATA: If necessary, boys and girls combined. Men and women combined.

BELT GROUPS:       White to Black

AGE GROUPS :         6 – 15 / 16 + Teams are judged by points.

MEDALS:  Participants will all receive participation medals, Except the first THREE                contestants per division, who will receive medals – Gold, Silver and                      Bronze

RULES FOR DIVISIONS:

KATA:

1.                 Point System

2.                 Please take note that if a lower grade nominates a higher Kata, he /                   she will be judged in accordance with the technicality and                                 performance of such Kata.

3.                 Unison Kata will be one round.

KUMITE:

1.         Fighting time will be as follows: Ages 6- 11 years: 60 seconds Ages 12 –              17 years: 90 seconds 18 and above years: 120 seconds

2.         Coaching is only allowed from the coaching chair.

3.         Gloves, (Any type will be allowed) and Mouth Guardsare compulsory.Should            a participant participate without a mouth guard and without the                          knowledge of the               referee, he / she will do so at own risk.

4.         Instructors are requested to explain all risks to their students.

5.         NO CONTACT will be allowed in the face or throat for ages 6 – 15 years.              -Controlled contact will be allowed for ages over 15 years. - Controlled               contact to the head and body (e.g. mawashi) will be allowed for all ages.             - Referees will be requested to take proper distanced punches and kicks              into consideration.

6.           Children - 4 (four) points – Shobu Nihon  scoring. Adults   - 6 (six)                      points – Shobu Sanbon scoring.

7.           Strict warning and / or disqualification for excessive contact.

8.             Contestants participate at their own risk.

UNISON:

1.           These divisions will be first on the schedule and contestants are                          Requested to be ready when they march on at 08:00.

2.             Genders may be mixed for Unison Kata and one contestant may be from               a younger age group.

3.           A contestant may only participate in one Unison Group.

GENERAL RULES:

1.           The Tournament Director reserves the right to amend divisions as may                   deem necessary.

2.             Right of entry and admission is reserved.

3.           All Clubs are to submit names of Coaches, Managers and TableOfficials                  on the entry forms. Only Coaches , Referees, Managers, Medical                          Personnel, Table Officials and VIP Guests will be permitted in the                          competition arena.

4.           Dress code for all Referees: ( Gi Pants, Kardio Warrior  T-shirt).

5.           Dress code for all Table officials: ( Blue Jeans, Kardio Warrior T-shirt ).

6.           Participant numbers will be given to managers on the morning of the                     Tournament at 07:30. Participant numbers will only be issued upon proof              of payment.

7.           Instructors are to ensure that all entry fees are paid before the cut off                date.

8.           Late registration at the Tournament – R150.00 per participant.

9.           Gum Guards (Mouth Guards) are compulsory for all competitors.

10.          Cut off date for entries is WEDNESDAY, 7TH March 2007

11.          Please be advised that the Tournament Organisers do not accept any                  liability for injuries sustained by participants during the tournament, any              loss of  valuables, any vehicle theft and / or damage to vehicle.

12.          Medical assistance will be available.

13.          Participation medals will be issued to all competitors.

14.          Specific medals awarded to first (1st), second (2nd) and third (3rd)                    places only.

A SCHEDULE AND NAME LISTS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

Take the Old Pretoria / Johannesburg Road (R101) offramp and turn right (North). 4th traffic light, Hendrik Verwoerd Ave, turn left. 1st traffic light, Willem Botha rd, turn right. 1st stop sign, Mulder's Mile, turn right. 4th stop sign, Edward st, turn left. 2nd stop sign, Ireland st, turn right, Eldoraigne Matsport Centre is on your right.

From Pretoria:
Ben Schoeman: - Follow the Ben Schoeman (N1) South towards Johannesburg.Take the Clubview / Lyttleton offramp and turn right (West). Pass 5 traffic lights (The 4th traffic light is the Old Johannesburg / Pretoria Road (R101). Second road to the left after 5th traffic light, Ireland rd, turn left. 1st stop sign, road split - keep right. Eldoraigne Matsport Centre is on your left (400m).

Old Jhb: - Follow the Old Johannesburg / Pretoria rd South towards Johannesburg. Saxby ave turn right. Cross the 1st traffic light. Second road to the left after 1st traffic light, Ireland rd, turn left. 1st stop sign, road split - keep right. Eldoraigne Matsport Centre is on your left (400m)

From Witbank / Pietersburg:
Follow the Pietersburg / Krugersdorp Highway (N1) South towards Johannesburg.
